Dr. S. K. Jain

It gives me immense pride and pleasure to extend my warm welcome to you on behalf of the
College of Agriculture, Ummedganj-Kota, the second constituent college of Agriculture
University, Kota, which was established in 2018 at Ummedganj Farm, Kaithoon Road, in the
Hadauti region. Since its inception, the college has been dedicated to fostering academic
excellence, research innovation, and the holistic development of students to address the ever-
growing challenges in the field of agriculture in this region.

It provides highly qualified technical as well as managerial human resources in the field of
Agriculture to the public and private sector through its Undergraduate, Masters’ and Ph.D.
programmes. At present, the college offers B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, along with M.Sc. and
Ph.D. programmes across various disciplines of agricultural sciences. Admissions are granted
on the basis of merit through JET/Pre-PG and ICAR entrance examinations through CUET,
with a team of dedicated faculty members, state-of-the-art laboratories, Experiential Learning
Units (ELUs), research farms, and a well-structured curriculum, the college ensures that
students gain both in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. Special emphasis is
placed on experiential learning, hands-on training, and field-based exposure to prepare
students as competent professionals, researchers, and entrepreneurs. The consistent
achievement of our students in securing prestigious national fellowships has further
contributed to positioning this institute among the leading agricultural colleges in the country.

Agriculture continues to be the backbone of our nation’s economy, and we envision our
graduates as future leaders who will make meaningful contributions to sustainable
agriculture, food security, and rural development. Beyond imparting quality education, the
college also strives to instil in students the values of discipline, integrity, and social
responsibility.

Nevertheless, it also undertakes research and extension activities in various fields as and
when required. It has played a key role in increasing production and productivity of all
important agricultural and horticultural crops, thereby, increasing the income of the farmers
of region. Development of appropriate crop production and crop protection
practices/technologies, appropriate land and water management, efficient use of agricultural

inputs and farm implements, economics of crop production, dissemination of crop production
technology to farmers and contingent measures are the important areas in which Agriculture
profession has been playing major role.

I warmly invite aspiring students to join us in this journey of academic excellence,
innovation, and service to farming communities. Together, we shall continue to work for a
brighter and more sustainable future for agriculture and society at large.
